Accessibility for people with disabilities

“All citizens have equal social dignity and are equal before the law, without distinction of sex, race, political opinion, personal and social conditions. It is the duty of the Republic to remove those obstacles of an economic or social nature which constrain the freedom and equality of citizens, thereby impeding the full development of the human person and the effective participation of all workers in the political, economic and social organisation of the country” (Constitution of the Italian Republic, art. 3)

Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este – Villae promote fruition of cultural heritage and accessibility for people with disabilities to museums at all levels.

Along with ANFASS Nazionale (the National Association of Families of People with Intellectual and/or Relational Disabilities), the Promotion and Communication Office – Service for Facilitated Access of Istituto Villa Adriana e Villa d’Este – Villae has developed an easy-to-read and understand guide to the heritage sites.

Being easy to read and understand is extremely important for people with intellectual disabilities since it helps them to comprehend complex information and acquire new knowledge
